At the coast with the Naylors

Some time ago we met some friends on the Homeschool Alumni website. Then we finally were able to meet them at camp last week. While there we decided they had to come to visit after camp! And they did! Sarah and Jeremy Naylor came Tuesday. They are two of 9 children and they have a family band. Since they had never been to Oregon they really wanted to see the coast. Being from Oklahoma they really enjoy the ocean when ever they can get there! Here are some of the pictures from the couple days they were with us. Jeremy is a photographer so many of these pictures are his! You can see his new blog HERE.
After dinner together in the new house we had to show them our creek and swimming hole. The walk that evening was lovely!

The irrigation Taylor helps move all the time at our friend's neighboring dairy!

There are lots of sweet peas growing around here! Our Sarah just had to gather some!

This is the other Sarah! The water was VERY cold!

Yes, the boys jumped in... :burrrrr:

After our trek through the woods the guys came back to the house and worked some more. Here is Sarah, mom and Heather watching!

Jeremy jumped in and helped!

Wiring is like a puzzle!

The next day was our "to the beach" day! We stopped in Newport and went to the Science Marine Center.

Docks are a great place for pictures! (Click to enlarge)

Just enjoying the sights!

This poor boat really lived up to his name! He was big and stuck out like a soar thumb! (I thought boats were supposed to be feminine but this one doesn't look feminine!) Only the five of us know who the "real" Grumpy Dragon was! hehe!
Next stop: A historic lighthouse!

Up we go!

Looking up...

Looking down.....

The actual lights!

The copper globe around the light was perfect for a reflection picture!

Sarah and Heather enjoying the lovely view!

Next we had lunch on the beach and then us girls looked around the rocks for marine life! We found some small things!

The Devil's Punch Bowl was around the corner so we stopped there too.
But there was nothing going on...bummer!

Tillamook! Cheese and ice cream were a must while here!

*Jeremy's photo*

What a big room! Wow!

After we got some cheese and ice cream in us we wanted to go to the beach one last time before heading home. We found this lovely spot and the setting sun made it just gorgeous! Great for taking pictures!

Jeremy taking pictures in the ocean!
Watching for sneaker waves!

Then we got some group shots!

Another!

And yet another!

Sarah and Jeremy!

Heather and I!

Sarah went back to wash the sand out of her sandals.

We were on the way home when we came upon these dunes! We couldn't just drive past! We had to stop!

*Jeremy's photo*

"Are we lost?"
"Yep, I think we are..."

"How much water do we have?"

"Ummm.."

*Jeremy's photo*

Do we look like we are dying from thirst and exhaustion?

Shadow picture!

Can anyone guess who is who? If you've seen the answer elsewhere you can't say!
*I'm not saying who took the picture!*

They were here!

We all wrote our names in the sand!

Jeremy made a sand angel!

The sun was setting on us while we were driving home. We had such a wonderful time with the Naylors. They were truly a delight to have in our home and travel with! We had such a fabulous time laughing and talking! I don't think there were many times of silence! It will be a couple days we will never forget!

Gorgeous beach photos! It looks like you did all our favorite beach activities! I recognize the lighthouse and of course the famous Tillamook Cheese visitor's center! I'm sure the fellowship was a blessing. I looked at the Naylor Family Band website. It is always a joy to hear about other musical families. I'll have to order a CD...
Love,
Sarah

Thanks for the updates. I hadn't realized it was possible for Taylor to have fun! And for some reason, I can't get the link to Jeremy's blog to work. Is it accurate?

The link is working for me. I'm not sure what's wrong!
