Not close enough!

We're not in yet! =( We actually have to push it off a week since the stairs will be much too fresh to walk on even for us. So the date to move is Feb. 7th!

Heather using the kitchen sink! It works, hot water and everything!

Mom has been plugging away at the stairs! Poor thing! It has been quite the job for her. She just needs to primer and paint the part that is not stained.

The landing.

The powder room pedestal sink waiting to be installed!

Grandpa got his cabinets in this week! This is his "hallway" looking into our section of the house.

His kitchen area.

There is his front door.

One of his bathroom sinks.

This is for you Mary Mauldin! See? He is doing well and isn't sick! He has been working so hard and we are proud of him! I haven't taken any pictures of him working recently because he is home by the time I take dinner over. But he has been working every day! We are always for Sunday to come around when we can just sit for a change and enjoy each other!

Gracie just wrote this on our white board, aka our "brain"! LOL! I think she is trying to brain-wash us! No, she is just trying to be helpful and encouraging! It might be working! =) I need to run now and get more packing done before taking dinner to the working crew!

We're getting VERY close!

This is one of the most exciting updates I've posted here! =) After a year and half of planning this house and the building process, we have a moving date, well, two actually! Jan. 31 my family is going to be moving the BARE necessities in to our new home, such as our beds, clothes, and kitchen (my sewing machine is already there, so that necessity is already accounted for! LOL!). We'll be living there the next week while finishing up packing up the "rental" and shop! The 3rd will be the official moving day! We are so excited and very relieved since this whole process has been a very long and tiring one for our whole family. We've been so blessed to see God working through so many things, big and small! We hope and pray God will bless not only our family with this house but many others as well.

Okay, now for a few pictures!

Mom has been working on the stairs, both sets of them. Each stair case needs to be conditioned, stained, three coats of varnish, primer (for the white part), and then three coats of paint. It is a long tiring job and she is doing a great job but she wishes it were done!

Here she is working on the attic stairs.

The attic stairs are done!

Trim! That is the guest room door!

Our girls' room is completely done, painted and all! So of course we had to move some things in!

Part of the boys' room. They still need their trim painted but that hasn't stopped them from moving some small things in!

Their closet is almost done too! Grandpa is waiting for more material to finish the shelves.

Doors that are painted and ready to hang.
(oh that sounds morbid! How about this: "and ready to be set in place."???)!

The linen closet and boys doorway. Mr. Webber did the trim for these! I guess they were a pain but it looks great!

The stair case from the first floor before they were conditioned! This is the last of them you will see until they are stained!

The kitchen sink faucet!

She's all set to help!

Daddy's helper!

All the bathroom sinks are working! Cold water and HOT!

Bathroom tubs and showers are all done as well!

It's looking a lot like home!

The main bathroom is all done! Just the doors need on the cabinets.

Look! There is water running! LOL!

The uppers are in!

Mr. K making sure the cabinets are just right! He did such a great job!

All in! He just needs to get the shelves and doors on.

Our first time cooking at the house other than the grilled cheese sandwiches we'd been making on the wood stove. The pancakes were very yummy!

The light fixture over the island.

Thank you all for taking the time to scroll through all these! I don't know! Maybe my next post will be after we move! =) What a cheerful thought!

Blessing to you all!

We're getting close!

We got to have Kami with us for a while! It was a joy to have her working with us!

We have lots of cardboard from the wood flooring so Keslie drew children on them!

Lydia's turn!

There she is!

What a face Sarah!

This week there was a birthday! Sarah turned 11!

Anna and Gracie made her a dress for the doll she got for Christmas! They worked late into the night and it turned out so cute!

Back to the house! Mr. B is working on the stairs.

Mr. Webber was so gracious and offered to help us with things we needed done on the house! He got the counters in the bathroooms ready so dad could lay the tile! He even helped watch the water heater area when dad turned on the water and got all wet since it wasn't supposed to come out there! He has been an incredible blessing, thank you Mr. Webber!

Mr. W working on the stairs too!

Who could that be????

Awww! Kami is sanding!

Mom is painting doors! There are lots to do and many many coats of paint! Whew!

The stairs are ready to be stained!

The attic stairs. Last night mom got them stained so they look a little different right now!

Gracie in the sink!

The toilets are working!

David and Keslie brought our ranges and dishwasher to the house. Josh came that day to help as well! In fact he helped the next day too, thank you Josh!

The kitchen sink faucet!

The mudroom sink is WORKING but since there is no hot water it has been torcher to wash our hands! It hurts being so cold but we can wash and with soap!

Food stuff in the pantry!

Tile in the girls bathroom! Dad did a great job!

Haha! Taylor fixing the toilet!

Mom and dad's closet is done! Grandpa's handywork! He did a wonderful job! Wow!

The girls' sewing corner! I can't wait!

Keslie helped me grout the main bathroom counter!

Our girls' closet is done too! That is my section right there! Grandpa is an amazing designer.

Sarah or Gracie's section

The counter is all grouted and ready for the sinks! News update, sinks are set and faucets are in as of last night!!!!!

The granite guys came Monday!

Here comes the first piece! It is the far corner.

One last shot before the counters are on!

The island.

The watchers!

The ranges and dishwasher in the family room!

The sink slab going in!

There!

He is mixing some horrid smelling stuff, it is the glue I believe. They called it something but I can't remember what it was.

They add color to it to match our counter tops.

Working in the seam. You can hardly see it now! It looks great!

Working on Grandpa's bathroom counter.

Glueing the sinks in!

In comes the island!

Boy, it was heavy! Wow!

Almost on!

There! He is drilling the holes for the faucet.

The first meal served on the island! Taylor looks like so funny and and and....well, yeah, funny! LOL!

The kids wanted to get a treat for the "wokers"! I stopped by the store and got the fixings for Root Beer floats! They said it really hit the spot!

The island sink and faucet! We got a steal on the faucet! God is so good!

There it is all done and ready for all the people that will be coming through our home! We can't wait!

If you all could keep us in your prayers. These last couple of weeks before the move is going to be tough ones, it already has been. With trying to move and finish the house at the same time things have been quite crazy here. We all want to move so bad and the very late nights have been hard. Thank you so much!

I hope you have enjoyed this installment of the blog, please check back soon since I know there will be more pictures!
