An Evenin' in the Mountains

Tonight Daddy took us kids on a hike on a mountain road. It was lovely up there and we all enjoyed the scene of the wispy clouds, stunning sunset, the red dirt, and feel the ever pressing stillness. It was wonderful!
The kids found a "cannon". They decided they needed to fire it!
The great adventurer!

A Regency Ball!

On Saturday evening Heather, T'awna and I got all dressed up to go to a ball. Taylor was our escort! We had a lovely time but pictures can tell more than words can!
Heather ready for a ball!
We're ready to go!
I'm curling Heather's hair:
"Are you looking at ME?"
T'awna. I loved her bow!

Oregon Zoo - Part Two

Part two of the Zoo!
Lydia riding an elephant:

Gracie piped up and said this monkey looked like Abraham Lincoln! We all had a good laugh at that!

Sarah had a bird land on her head! She was very surprised!

Mom and Lydia
This little bird kept pecking and hurting Taylor! I think he was having fun though!
This orangutan loved to be close to Lydia and Lydia liked it too:
She just sat there and watched Lydia and Benjamin watch her!
This was a lovely wolf! I just wish it were up and walking.

Here is Gracie enjoying some of those birds too:
This is Packy the elephant who has been at the Oregon Zoo since 1963:
Benjamin "thought" this was a machine gun! He had a delightful time shooting the invisible enemies and had to be pulled away from it. I saw people looking at him funny, I guess he wasn't being politically correct! Lydia on an elephant:
And Lydia again!

I hope you enjoyed those!

Our family at the Oregon Zoo - Part One

Today we went to the Oregon Zoo! We had a lovely day even if it was a little cold but it didn't rain but for a few sprinkles! Here is part 1 of the pictures I took:
Sarah and Benjamin:
It is real! These kids thought it was fake it held so still the whole time:
Daddy and Lydia looking at the elephant's:
Sarah, Gracie and Benjamin "riding" wooden horses! You would think they never have done such a thing!
Lydia watching the polar bears in amazement:
The sea lions were my favorite exhibit of the day! They were so huge and they kept swimming around right past us! That is Benjamin and Sarah watching them:
Here is the crew! Taylor, Benjamin, me, Lydia, Sarah, Gracie and Heather. David had to work:(
Gracie!

A stunning Bald Eagle. No wonder it is the national bird, it is so regal and magnificent!
Lydia watching some fish:
This was a lovely duck that was swimming in a small pond:
I couldn't get Lydia to smile! But she was having fun, really!
Lydia and Heather:
The kids were disgusted with the huge, fat black bear. Gracie said it was going to die of diabetes! lol!
Benjamin enjoying himself!
