Our Unlce John

~
On Monday, the 25th of Feb. we were saddend to say goodbye to a much loved man. He has been a part of our lives for as long I as I can remember and he and his wife were best friends with my grandparents since they all were in high school. He fought cancer for several months but God saw fit to take him to his final home. Even though we are so sad and are hurting terribly we are so thankful Uncle John is free from sin and all pain! He was greeted by his son Mike who went to heaven about 5 years ago. I can't imagine how wonderful it must be for Uncle John and Mike to be worshipping their Maker side by side and singing His praises in unison!

~

Our hearts go out to John's wife, Betty, who will forever miss her husband of 54 years. She has lost a son and now her husband. Please remember to pray for her, her daughter and 4 grandchildren.

~

Uncle John was MUCH loved by our family and was viewed as an uncle by us kids. We just can't believe he is not on this earth anymore but that he is rejoicing and praising God in a new and perfect body!

~

I also think of our dear Grandpa who is grieving deeply for his dear friend. We pray that his heart might be filled with peace and comfort. Today, he and grandma left to drive to AZ. We pray they will have a safe and calm drive.

~

We were greatly blessed with a visit from Aunt Betty and Uncle John in August and here are some pictures I took of them and my grandparents.

George Washington Birth-night Ball

For about a month now, the Couches have been planning on coming to visit to surprise Heather for her birthday. When they were trying to figure out when to come they remembered that the Friday after her birthday there was going to be a Ball put on by friends of ours! Of course we all decided that was the best time to come and then they could attend the ball with us! For a month we had to keep this secret and need I say, it was VERY hard to do so!

On Thursday night, while we were cleaning the kitchen after dinner, Gracie starts screaming "THE C's ARE HERE!" All the kids under Taylor were just as surprised as Heather, and boy, was she surprised! It took awhile for the shock to wear off!

Friday was ball preparations and fellowship! Many curls were curled, dresses donned, bows tied and of course many giggles sounded through the house! The ball was absolutely lovely in a gorgeous ballroom and we even had live music to tap our toes to! The evening slipped by much to quickly but our beds felt very good when at last we slipped into them with heavy eyes!

Here are the pictures taken mostly by Kami and our friend Mrs. W. with Kami's wonderful new camera!

Curls!

And more curls, 65 to be exact! hehehehe!

"Now Heather, you must behave yourself and not talk with food in your mouth..."

"Okay Keslie, I'll try to remember..."

Ummm, did Keslie shrink? Oops!

It was a lovely weekend and the memories we carry from it will last a lifetime!

The trusses are up!

Like I promised here are the pictures of the trusses after they have been set up.

When I went up stairs this is all I saw of David. Where's the rest of him?!?!?!?!

Looking at the stair way and the master bedroom.

:gulp: There is a man right above us!

You can't really tell from the picture but David has his hands on the peak of roof! He is WAY up there but at least the trusses are firmly set in place! Whew!

Grandpa and grandma's side of the house!

The front view from the road!
