Our weekend in WA!

Hi everyone! David and I arrived home from a wonderful three day trip to the C family in Wa. It was David and Keslie's first time together after they began courting and it was wonderful! It was so refreshing to see these two people honoring God in their courtship. Our prayer for them is to prayerfully seek God's will in their lives together and to be an encouragement to others who watch their relationship! Please keep them and our families in your prayers. This is a very exciting time for us and we are so blessed to be part of David and Keslie's lives.

Here are a couple of pictures that I thought you might enjoy!

The roses David brought Keslie. He also brought flowers for Mrs. C, Kami and Annie!

I am going to be in Illinois to visit my friend Amber Moeller and in Michigan to visit the Jantzen family for two weeks! I'm not sure if I'll be able to update the blog until I return on June 12th, but I'll try. I'll be taking the camera so if I don't post while I am gone, I'll be sure to have tons of pictures when I return!!!!!!

Goin' Courtin'

I really don't know were to start because the C family and ours are on cloud 8 right now and our minds are having a really hard time focusing on our everyday work. Now you may ask why not cloud 9? Well, there is a reason for that. It's because there's no room for us on cloud 9 because David and Keslie are there!!!!!!!!!!!
YES DAVID AND KESLIE ARE COURTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Waiting for her! Actually She didn't know anything at this point!

This is a closer picture of our darling Keslie. This was taken right before we left for the ball where the last picture was taken.

We are just so amazed at the way God works in peoples lives. It is a great pleasure to watch these two young people striving to glorify God in all they do together. We pray they will continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of their Savior and Creator. This is just SO exciting I can't believe it!!!!!!!!!!! We can't wait to see what God has in store for them!
We love you both!!!!!

Cheadle Lake - Set up day and Mike

The next few posts are going to bring you all up to date on our weekend. We were able to attend Cheadle Lake Civil War Reenactment along with some wonderful friends! The Fairchilds were together once again! That's all I'll say on that point!

~*~*~*~*~

Thursday evening we were delighted to have our friend, Michael J from California, come for a visit! He got in late but we had to stay up still later and talk for a while. He truly is a character and made us laugh so much! He is working at a cattle ranch doing just what you picture cowboys doing and he very much looks the part!

Since Cheadle Lake is just 15 minutes from our home we were able to go Thursday night to set up the wall tents in the cool of the evening. It was 85 degrees that day and we knew Friday was going to be even hotter, and it was. It was 95 degrees on Friday and incredibly humid, breaking records. The C family came in early afternoon and the guys were able to help them set up their tents. Boy, is that ever hot work. It was well past dark before we began to cool off.

After we were finished setting up the guys got out the stilts for "stilt wars".

Go Taylor!

Michael fell!

David's turn now.

Shake before the fight!

On Friday there was a school day. It's when the kids from the schools walk through the growing camps and watch demonstrations. The stilts were a huge amusement for them. This picture shows them coming in a group to give them a try!

Trying to cool off in the evening! We counted 80 toes in a tub of water at one time! It sure does feel delightful to put your burning hot feet into the freezing water! Awwwww!

Cheadle Lake - Day 1

Lydia and her ball.

Heather crocheting.

I looked over and Lydia was surrounded by all these cute little boys! Annie, like a good friend, was standing by to rescue her anytime she wanted away!

Anna made her dress and did a LOVELY job! Well done Anna!

The boys lined up for the first time this weekend. It was Josh's first battle! It was great to have him here! I think he is hooked! David, Taylor, Josh, Michael, Dad, and Mr. C are all in this picture!

Our boys at the fence. You can see David, Taylor, Mr. C and then Michael at the far right.

David, Josh, Mr. C and Michael.

Cooling down in the shade after the first battle. Those "cooling down" times are great fun because we are all together laughing and talking.

While sitting in the shade I decided to take some portraits without the victims knowing!

Taylor.

Michael.

"Kami, do you have cookies in there????"

David.

Josh.

Keslie.

Annie.

Mr. Hughes fighting in blue against "our" boys!

I don't know her name but I thought she was just darling! She was cooling her feet in a water pail.

Resting after a battle. They were really sleeping too. It was really hot in those wool pants and coats.

Then our soldiers and the kids decided that they needed to get even hotter, and play "Sharks and minnows"!

But Mrs. L and Annie decided to stay cooler in the shade and play Mancala.

Josh playing in the heat.

And Mike!

I thought this was a funny picture. Taylor looks silly, Ehlana looks like a pretty Olive Oil from Popeye, and Mike looks tough with his big fists!

Gracie taking care of Lydia.

Lydia resting with Daddy in the shade during the heat of the day. They looked SO cute together!

Where are you? Our little clown!

There's a good smile.

Gabe and Lydia playing together.

Yeah, that's Mike for you!

Playing with marbles.

Sneak peek into the next Fairchild Film. Oh wait, I didn't say that! "I know nothing!"

Ben and Ben getting ready for their reenacting tradition, wrestling.

Do we have a winner? They have so much fun with wrestling together! It has become something they look forward to with great anticipation. Oh! It was Benjamin C's birthday today as well! He turned 8. He is just 15 days younger than our Ben!
