A day we have been praying for!

David has been working for over a year to get hired on with the police department in this area. We all have been praying him through the process and thanking God at each step that brought him closer to his goal. This week God blessed him for his faithfulness by a call from the person who does the hiring telling David that he is to begin work on Nov. 10th if he still wants the job! Does he???? What a question! We are so thankful for the blessings He has poured upon David this year! First he got a girl to court, a fiance, a wife, a new home, a baby on the way, and now a new job! All in 5 and a half months! WOW! Keslie is terribly excited for him and so proud of him! We all are! We can't wait to see what God does through David in the this new job and opportunity!

David when he was at Front Sight a couple years ago.
Thank you for taking the time to check back!

Dad's birthday and Taylor's excitement!

Our family tradition of praying for the birthday person. Normally dad is the one who prays, but David prayed for dad this time!

Dad, wearing Mom's glasses, goofing off with the cane David and Keslie got for him! He got the cane because he joined the ranks of the grandpa's! I can't wait to see him hold his first grandchild!

Even Lydia loves birthdays! The other day she was singing the happy birthday song while she was eating breakfast even though it wasn't anyone's birthday!

Humm...I wonder what he was thinking! LOL!

Feeling the heat from all the candles!

This week also brought some great excitements! First was a call from Taylor to mom and I while we were shopping, that he wasn't going to get much school done since he just shot a 3 point buck! Instead, he learned how to gut a deer! We are all so excited since it is the first deer any of our guys have gotten. Since mom and I were gone, Keslie came to the rescue and drove the buck to a friends house so they could show Taylor how to clean it. Mr. G and Austin were so great to help Taylor get the buck all taken care of. We are looking forward to tasting it! Yummy! Last night Keslie and David came over because Keslie wanted to cook the liver and heart! It actually wasn't that bad!
The second great excitement of the day is coming later today, and it's a good one!!!

DRY WALL!!!

Yeay! A dry wall post! Wow folks! This house is really taking shape!

Grandpa and Grandma's attic!

Our girls' room

The top of the stairway and the miniature door to dad and mom's room! LOL! I think it's cute!

One of the workers screwing in the dry wall next to the main bathroom door. Come on now, isn't that door cute? Aww! :J/K of course: haha!
The kitchen!

Lydia watching the man work in the boy's room. She didn't like the squeaking the machine made while lifting the drywall up to the ceiling. Those guys are amazing to watch work, the drywall is big and heavy, but they move fast!

The man working on us girls' ceiling!

They all look happy!!! =)

Sunday we all went to the house to see the progress and to finally take some pictures! (my camera broke so while it's getting fixed Keslie let my use theirs! Thanks David and Keslie!)

The stairs to the attic.

Back down stairs. The pad to the right is the platform for the wood stove. The opening to the left leads to the kitchen/dining room.
This is Grandpa and Grandma's living room!

This is our pantry! I love having the window in the pantry!

The hall from our house to Grandpa and Grandma's house.

This week Grandpa worked very hard cleaning up the shop, it looks amazingly good! That was a lot of work! He's an amazing Grandpa and we love him.

Lydia and Sarah under the stairs!

The boys room and linen closet!

The upstairs family room. As I write this the drywall is basically done so next comes the tape and texture, we can't wait for that.

Most of the kids went on a walk with David and Keslie and this is how they returned, with Keslie in the jogger! David said he went shopping and found himself a wife! LOL! They were too cute!

The insulation installed and the dry wall delivered!

Yay! Another house update and there is actually progress that can be seen! Hurrah! There has always been progress but it hasn't been very obvious to the eye! Our men are working SO hard! I love them all!
Enjoy the pictures!

Grandpa working on the fan duct for over the kitchen stoves that he designed and constructed.

A gift from a son and a gift from daughter! =) The handy black tool bag that Grandpa loves was a gift from my uncle Kirby to my grandpa and the cookies were from my mom! We call cookies "Builders Glue"! They work!

The insulation is in!

There will be more pictures of the insulation (aren't you just ecstatic! LOL!) so don't worry! But the drywall arrived before I could get good pictures of it all done.

The boom is lifting those HUGE and HEAVY sheets of dry wall up into the attic.

The sheets are 12' x 54 '' or so. HEAVY!

There are our walls on the floor in the dining room! I'm not sure how to make that sound any less strange!

The living/music room!

All the putty for the seams! (It sounds like I'm talking about sewing here! "seams" "sheets" lol!

The insulated room is the powder room on the main floor.
Drywall!!!! We have waited over a year to see this in our house! Praise God!

Another bathroom and the master bedroom wall. Mom and Dad don't want to hear too much thumping on the stairs! The insulation should help some!

Main bath.

Above our girls' room.

Grandpa's attic

The guys had to run some wire under the driveway so that is why it is all torn up! Look at the color of that dirt! Isn't it lovely? So rich and brown! That is what we get for being so close to a creek but one also has to deal with lots of rock!

More trenches in order to get power to the shop.

One burn pile down and not sure how many more to go. This one was out in the front yard so it's nice to get it out of the way.

Okay, this looks pretty shrimpy compared to it's real size. I would guess it is somewhere about 9 to 10 feet tall! It is a huge root ball! We are hoping it will burn. We are not really sure we would like it as a yard ornament....naw... =)

"Can I have a kiss???" Lol! Dad looks like a chimney sweep after burning the piles! We were very happy to see him non the less!

The drywall is being installed this week so soon I'll get to post pictures of actual rooms that you can really see! We are getting very excited and can't wait to see what God does in the next few months! Thank you all so much for taking the time to look!

Are you sitting down? =)

Well, you had better be! LOL! Sorry, that was a little dramatic but I couldn't resist!

When David and Keslie were engaged, Lydia would say this little phrase over and over again:

"Dadid and Teslie married? Babies?" We have been telling her each time she repeats this phrase that if it is God's will then there will be babies!

Monday night God worked out events in His perfect way and had dad home instead of working on the house (you have to understand that almost EVERY night he has been working till late at night, so him being home was amazing). David called and asked if he and Keslie could come over to print some things off on our printer. We were all in the familyroom reading the Bible when they arrived and before much could be said David said that he didn't really need to print anything off but they had come for an entirely different purpose! Then he told us with a radiant smile on his face and holding his wife's hand that they were going to have a baby!!!!! I'm not really sure what happened after that because I was so happy, surprised, shocked (but not really), excited, and ecstatic! There were many hugs and lots of tears going around. Keslie has a baby in her womb! Wow! My little niece or nephew! My brother's child! I'm an aunt! Yippy!

This little one is making:

11 people an aunt or uncle for the first time

4 people grandparents for the first time (Both sets of parents, obviously)

4 ladies a great-grandma for the first time ( David's one grandmother, both Keslie's grandmothers and a step-grandma)

2 gentlemen a great-grandpa for the first time ( Both of Keslie's grandfathers)

1 gentleman a great-great-grandpa for the first time (David's dad's grandpa)

1 Lady a great-great-grandma (Keslie's mom's grandma)

First we unite the Fairchilds and then they grow! We praise the Lord for this new family!

A favor to ask

Greetings all! I had a favor to ask of you! =) We don't mind at all if you post a comment anonymously (meaning that you don't have a blog we can link to) but please post your name in your comment! It helps all feel like friends here and it's nice to know who browses our blog!

Thank you for helping us out in this way!
Blessings to you all and I pray you have a lovely week!
