Siding - Day 3

Friday evening found the siding on the front of the house and the left gable! Doesn't it look like a REAL house now? Okay, for all of you who think we should just move in right now really wouldn't think so after seeing what is it like inside! No walls, doors, necessary bathroom fixtures, sinks, oven, fridge... and the list goes on! Oh, I forgot! No washer and dryer! That would not be good! No, we are going to wait to move in until all the above are installed. =)

David was cutting a hole in the wall for a vent. Here he was replacing a saw blade.

Okay, Keslie. This one is for you! Just for your own enjoyment!

This really shows just how precarious cutting a vent hole can really be! Let's just say there were some close calls! When your head is up there, well over 12 feet, the ground looks very far down!

The siding is going up!

They have about 2/3 of the bottom floor done!

I just had to throw this in! Normally her hair is done and cute, but today....well... it wasn't! She even went to the store with dad like that! All the way to the store she talked and talked. In the store she talked and on the way home she talked! She loves to jabber! Her vocabulary is growing tremendously! On the way home tonight she yelled, "Honk Dad, HONK!" I'm not really sure why she had a sudden urge to have dad honk the horn but she did! Tonight she helped me pick up garbage. She is a great helper and it makes her very happy to be working along side us. There she was, pulling her box around, asking "This?" "Yes, throw that away." "Otay!" Then she had to comment on each piece!

Anyway, hope you had a lovely day and thanks for dropping by!

Wedding Update! Finally!

This little video shows the wedding progress in our home. It's just like what we are watching happen! Enjoy!

Okay! Haha! Do you want some real wedding plans? Okay!

Keslie and her mom are just amazing! They are doing so well in all their planning and organizing that is quite exciting! Keslie is working on her dress and Kami is working on her brides maids dress. The wedding will be held in a lovely red barn that is near the C family. David really wishes he was 54 days older right now! Can you guess why????? =) I can imagine Keslie does too though she has much to do before the day comes! The invitations are lovely (of course if Keslie put them together)! Ummm....what else....I am going to start making Sarah and Gracie's brides maids dresses today! I'm also going to order the fabric for Heather's dress and mine. We have people coming from 8 different states and possibly 12! Even three people from Texas and one from Michigan! Wow! This wedding is so wonderful to watch unfold! God is so good!

David's birthday on the 4th of July!

David turned 22 on the 4th of July! I can still remember the first time I held him hours after he was born! Now look at him! He is 6'3'' and getting married! I can't believe it!

He got a coat! He really needed one though he might have to wait till winter to wear it! But it's always good to have a nice heavy coat!

Ben had to try it on to see if he could swim in it! I think he can!

The birthday boy with his annual cake!

Since we didn't go to the reenactment this weekend we were able to go watch the fireworks! Benjamin didn't remember ever going since we have been at a reenactment for the 4th for the last 5 years. We all greatly enjoyed it! Even Gracie went along although she didn't feel well.

Doing some of our own fireworks while we waited.

Even Gracie had to do one! Poor thing!

We had so much fun that day although David was really missing some girl....Lydia loved on him and patted his shoulder and said "Poor Dadid, poor Dadid." =) I think it helped just a little tiny bit!

House Update

It's about time for another house update!

Grandpa got his front door frame in! It looks like a house now!

Grandpa put in our back sliding glass door!

The chimney for the wood stove!

Grandpa looking intently at something while working on the chimney outside.

The plumbing and the electrical in the upstairs bathroom.

Where the breaker box is going. Imagine trying to remember them all! Haha! Good thing dad wrote on them because I know I wouldn't have remembered!

The plumbing for the washer.

Boy, I can't wait to move in! It seems to be getting much closer now that the plumbing is done and the electrical almost done and tomorrow (Monday) the siders are coming! It will be wonderful to see the siding on!

Spring Ball!

Once again we had the honor of attending a Ball with Keslie and Kami. They came for the weekend then I took them home and stayed for a few days. Here are some pictures from the ball:

We're all ready!

Hummm... =)

Me, Gracie and Heather! It was Gracie's first Ball!

Me!

Can anyone guess what he's holding? I can't wait to hear what you all think it is! Hehe!

Two sisters (or almost) trying to be cool. I think we failed....

=)

Gracie!

Heather and Kami goofing off! But they sure look darling while doing so!

Some dancing pictures! Keslie is looking at David like she really wishes she was closer to him! Awww!

Taylor and Heather are in the background.

Our Keslie!

David is really concentrating in this picture. Actually both he and Keslie said they had to really concentrate the whole time just to be able to dance the right steps!

Brittany and Josh G. Josh works with David and often comes over to our house and helps work on the new house in the evenings. He is a great help!

Our Kami!

After the Ball we went to Shari's with some friends. It was great fun despite the fact that we were all very tired after dancing for hours!

Gracie and I.

Michael J worked on our house!

Well, when Mike was here in May he was so kind to help on the house for a day before heading back to his ranch. Before he could leave I was able to get some pictures of him working. Although, in some of the pictures it's hard to tell whether he is actually constructing or destructing! Well, that's Mike!

"See that little nail? One hit and it's in!"
"Just don't miss and hit the window!"

Dad decided to help hold a nail for him....

...not a good idea...

Some serious work, caulking.

It was so great to have Michael there that weekend!

Thanks for the work and the laughs!

*sorry for the lateness of the post, but better late than never!*

Our future home!

I know this is an old picture but I thought I should post it before we actually move in! Haha! Now the windows are in and there is a porch over Grandpa's door. We are only missing David in this picture since he was at work. Bummer...
